The Carpenters classic : "SING"

Sing, sing a song
Sing out loud
Sing out Strong
Sing of good things not bad
Sing of happy not sad

Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last
Your whole life long
Don't worry that it`s not
Good enough
For everyone else to hear
Just sing, sing a song

Sing, sing a song
Let the world sing along
Sing of love there could be
Sing for you and for me

this song could be very useful in ESL classes. it`s simple and easy to memorize. I used it in my classroom to teach adjectives, it was fun!

Jokes in English for the ESL/EFL Classroom - Newest Jokes (I-TESL-J)

Jokes in English for the ESL/EFL Classroom - Newest Jokes (I-TESL-J)

these jokes can be used to design fun lesson. these r my favourites:

Two factory workers are talking.
The woman says, "I can make the boss give me the day off."
The man replies, "And how would you do that?"
The woman says, "Just wait and see." She then hangs upside-down from the ceiling.
The boss comes in and says, "What are you doing?"
The woman replies, "I'm a light bulb."
The boss then says, "You've been working so much that you've gone crazy. I think you need to take the day off."
The man starts to follow her and the boss says, "Where are you going?"
The man says, "I'm going home, too. I can't work in the dark."

Two cows are standing in a field.
One says to the other "Are you worried about Mad Cow Disease?"
The other one says "No, It doesn't worry me, I'm a horse!"

Teacher: Maria please point to America on the map.
Maria: This is it.
Teacher: Well done. Now class, who found America?
Class: Maria did.

Imagination Movers- 1st Day of School

lyrics of the song
it's my first day of school - i'm a little scared there's a lot to do but i'm prepared to brush my teeth and comb my hair - get in my seat mom takes me there - going to wave bye-bye - go through the door learn a little something that i didn't know before first day of school and i'm prepared
i'm going to be here from 9 to 3 that's an awful long time for me but i know you're going to be right back going to see you for an after-school snack
well i built blocks - learned to count then i made some animals sounds - had a snack, took a nap, painted a picture of my cat - i went outside - i fell down - i got back up and ran around - listned to a story - songs to sing that's when i heard the school bell ring
i was here for most of the day there still are plenty of games to play and you're waiting in the car outside i don't want to leave but i want to see your smile
first day of school - it's my first day of school (x2) first day of school and i'm prepared

Tongue Twisters

teach your students pronunciation using tongue twisters, and have fun with them.
here are my favourite ones:
1-A big black bug bit a big black bear, made the big black bear bleed blood.
2-. Betty Botter bought some butter,
“But”, she said, “This butter’s bitter.
If I bake this bitter butter,
it will make my batter bitter.
But a bit of better butter -
That would make my batter better”.
So she bought a bit of butter,
better than her bitter butter,
and she baked it in her batter,
and the batter was not bitter.
So ‘twas better Betty Botter
bought a bit of better butter
3- A cheap ship trip.
4- I can think of six thin things and of six thick things too.
5-A proper cup of coffee from a proper copper coffee pot
6-She sells seashells on the seashore.
The shells she sells are seashells, I’m sure.

you could challenge your student to read and repeat the tongue twiters quickly . I`m sure you`ll laugh a lot.

Class management: the lesson

There’s a room with tables and chairs, a board, students and you. You have a book, a pen and various technologies at your disposal. It’s up to you how you spend the next hour. Many decisions will have to been taken earlier because they are crucial to how the actual lesson goes. Here are some questions to ponder
